I've been doing a lot of world building in my tiny head, so I thought maybe I should put pen to paper (or push a bunch of buttons) to get some of these ideas fleshed out and established. Right now it's just a bunch of jumbled thoughts but once I have enough coherent ones then I'll organize them more. The world is anthromorphic with heavy magik focus, but also includes super heroes and sci-fi elements. I typically end up calling the planet this universe takes place in Curth (ha ha, get it? It's like Earth but even dumber sounding, isn't that just sigh worthy humor?).

A group of independently operating "heroes" that opposes the currently established Hero Association and serves their own form of justice. Each member is an embodiement of a sin and deals with criminals that commite extreme acts of these sins, albeit they also characterize these sins themselves. Their base of operation is located in eastern North America. Members of the group include:
Magik is divided in to two pools, essence and mana. Essence magik is referred to as Elemental magik as it is consumed when using elemental control over a specific element. Not all individuals can wield an element, and those that do must be careful as using too much can "exert" themselves and lose their own life. Mana magik is referred to as Arcana magik as it is consumed when using magik that doesn't belong to any element and can simply be used to manipulate the world. All individuals are believed to be able to wield this type of magik, but training must be done to use it effectively.
Arcana has two specialized groups of magik known as Ether and Hex, but is called Arcane if the spell does not fit any group neatly. Ether magik is known as healing magik and used to heal wounds and injuries. Hex magik is known as "debuff" magik as it causes victims to fall to curses.
Elemental has many recongized and distinct elements, though enough training could cause some overlapse in elemental control. These elements are Pyro (Fire), Mar (Water), Gale (Air), Terra (Earth), Natura (Nature), Dark, Light, Ice, Psionic (Psychic), Illusio (Spirit), Crimson (Blood), Charge (Electric), Stone, [and more, I've misplaced my notes atm]. Elements that can have overlap are typically the ones that share one of the five pillars of elements: Fire, Water, Air, Terra, and Nature.
A networks to establish "towers" of magik that spans the globe and recognizes each "tower" as a representative of magik housing. The Tower of Nexus and Library of Alexandria are chapters of this society.
A magik tower located near the largest nexus point in North America, it's ran by Head Chancellor Leonardo "Leo" Midas and other chancellor members of the high ranking officials. The tower was not built on the exact location to the nexus because previous attempts caused the tower to crumble due to the dense well of magik present at the location. Thee nexus location is fenced off and no one but high ranking officials may step foot on its grounds. A town surrounds the tower where residental and shopping districts occupy, and has a train on its southwest town border.
The tower works with a ranking system that goes from rank F to A (FA) and then S to Z (SZ). The FA ranks are considered "college" ranks and are individuals who are still learning how to perform magik. The SZ ranks are "professionals" who go out in the world and perform their magik as a representative of the Tower. Z ranks in particular are the elites who directly serve the chancellors and their tasks.
An underground outstretched library dedicated to the ideology of the original library of the same name, this library is one of the most most highly rated and respected of their field. Members of the library are called librarians who have many jobs from all over the academic field such as archaeologists to zoologists. Any time a book is published, a copy is brought to the library as thee information super center.
In some universes, the Genesis Plains are a myterious grassy plains where naked strangers suddenly appear with otherworldly knowledge. In some of the universes a town is established nest to the plains, with a fence and arrow signs around the plains to point to registration shack where "Far Travelers" may go to to be introduced to the new world they are in. Usually given clothes and some money, the town is designed to prepare the new comers to this strange new land they have come to. Far Travellers often times mention how strange they feel when they first wake up in the grassy plains. (TL;DR: This is typically the isekia point for the world, commonly in the Behest Era)
The Citadel once was a thriving mega city for the behestians in their promise land desert. A cylindrical city with towering, thick walls and buildings built layer by layer to form a more vertical city that spanded acres across. It had four gates that had inner main roads that when seen above would make what appears to be the behestian cross. The lower levels of the citadel were called by many "hell" as those who lived there recieve little to no light and would often need to help keep the top of the city "powered" with heating and essence. The central building is a cathedral where mass is held, and is large enough for hold most of the inhabitants of the city (top layer). They have appointed four individuals as the "Four Heavenly Kings" and to help spread the behestian belief and control beyond the city. They do not recognize kings as "chosen by god" but rather just a formal title to rule a large piece of land.
The behestians believe that there is only one true god, sometimes in scriptures referred to as "Behest" but mainly referred to as God. They believe that light elementals are blessed individuals by God who should be respected and held in high regard. While contrarily the dark elementals are "corrupted" and thus should be
Statera Corus translates to Balance of heart/core/center, and believers generally believe everything has a balanced equal. They do not view one elemental as above another, and believe that dark elementals are not inherently "evil" and that light elementals are not inherently "good". They believe in god hierarchy, four gods as the "Major Majors" or "The Majors" that rule over life, four smaller gods as "Major Minors" that each help in one of the Majors, and then additional gods known as "The Minors" as they can be classed as "Minor Majors" or "Minor Minors".
A dead religion which thought the world would end at a certain date, but once proven that the world did not die most followers abandoned it. Only stone carvings are left as proof of this religion, if any were left intact as a passage in the Behest bible suggests that many stone temples were destroyed. Some of most younger carvings suggest that the Behest and Statera Corus religions, and many unnamed others, were created after the fall of the Mayans.
A forgotten tribe that lived in dome shaped huts, and were unusually prosperous with food. It was said that they would gorge themselves on this food until they were round and spherical. Some towns look upon gods that may have been lone orbulites that they have encountered and enamored, typically referring to them as gods of harvest, bounty, protection, prosperity, and/or fertility. It is unknown if any tribes are still active in the Modern Era, but it is speculated that they were prominent in the Mayan Era. It is said they are looked as though they were sphereical in shape and adorned with a round, spherical gem at the top of their sternum. (Metalore: This gem allows them to control their weight, shifting the fat in their body around, and being able to temporarily store their fat in the gem. The gem is attached to them and cannot be removed without killing the barer of the artifact.)
This is a loose timeline of how the world developed.
The location that Expandyssey: The Elastic Modulus takes place in. It is a lab that does blue sky research, meaning that the research they do does not fit into any specific field of study (Like biology or geology). The nearest town is a bustling metropolis known as a travel hot spot, otherwise its an underground facility embedded into a mountain side. Its entrance points towards the metropolis with a wide open area on the other side for open space studies. The main study this facility does is body capacity and mobility studies just to name a few. [The notes for this are on my other laptop, aaaaahhh!!!]
